“Para La Naturaleza is a non-profit organization, from the Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico, that integrates society in the conserva- tion of its natural ecosystems. In addition to organizing volunteer events, educational and fund raising campaigns, ”Para La Naturaleza” protects more than 60 natural areas and receives the public in visitor centers through- out Puerto Rico, including Hacienda Buena Vista in Ponce, Hacienda La Esperanza in Manatí and Cabezas de San Juan in Fajardo, among others.
In collaboration with Jean C. Vega Díaz, I worked for “Para La Naturaleza”, to develop evacuation plans for 10 of their protected properties that included 28 buildings. The task included visiting sites and buildings, generat- ing “as-built” floorplans, designing the evacu- ation plan, and generating the graphic design of icons for the safety equipment location and the evacuation plan board.
