This project has been rooted in community, which means centering the voices of people whose histories and futures are represented in the exhibit. Diverse educators, researchers, scientists, community leaders, storytellers, artists, and culture bearers walked with us through the exhibit and/or joined us for focus group discussions and dinner discussions. The design team included Katie Fronek, Chewys Parra Paulino, and John Mouton, with broad experience in landscape architecture, architecture, prototyping, fabrication, and multi-disciplinary projects. Four students at the Tulane School of Architecture -- Maddison Wells, Zachary Braaten, David Rodriguez, and Ryan Snyder -- contributed design explorations and prototypes that greatly expanded the range of possibilities that we were able to consider.
Designer and educator Aron Chang served as project lead, and worked closely with Katie Fronek to coordinate this effort and to write and lay out this document over the course 2020.
