Finalist Archstorming Competition

I believe in education. I believe it is a nonphysical super power that can let you to be and feel present while carrying the past and drawing what’s next. I also believe education is dignity, as well as beauty. Sambou Toura Drame School is a dignifying space.

I imagine Sambou Toura Drame School as being a space to learn + practice. The main concept of the proposal grew around the idea of applying what is being learned in the school, not just for its students, but also for the community around it. The location of the school permits a strong gathering space for the Marsassoum community. Some themes, directly integrated into the proposal, are practice opportunities for children, teenagers, and adults: water, water harvesting, agriculture, and building trades.
